Countdown to Year-End: What Your Direct Response Should be Doing Three Months Out

September 29, 2022

“Year-end does an amazing thing. It happens at the same time every year, there’s never guesswork, we don’t wake up one morning and hear on the radio or read on an app that year-end this year has been scheduled for such and such a date. It is always December 31. So, if you’re behind the eight ball on your end, I’m sorry, but that’s your own fault, because year-end is a fixed point in time.”

Pamela Barden

In this episode of The Beacon Podcast, Lighthouse Counsel podcast coordinator Margaret Gardner speaks with Pamela Barden, president of PJ Barden Inc., about year-end direct-response fundraising.

Pamela warns that the time to think about year-end is, well, now and discusses:

  • How year-end direct-response fundraising messages differ or should differ from other campaigns.
  • What a year-end direct-response fundraising campaign should look like.
  • One critical piece of advice nonprofits need to know concerning their year-end direct-response fundraising.
