Refining Engagement Strategies

August 22, 2019

“A new donor, who has given once… they probably need to hear different things from you than someone who has given 10 years in a row like clockwork. Those are two very different donors, even if the gift amount is the same.” -Steven Shattuck

In this episode of The Beacon Podcast, Jeff speaks with Steven Shattuck, chief engagement officer at Bloomerang, about ways nonprofits can engage with donors.

With experience as a fundraising video producer and digital content creator for a variety of nonprofits and as a content curator for Bloomerang, Steven shares how organizations can connect with donors by answering:

  • In regard to engagement, who should a nonprofit be primarily focused on?
  • What are the most effective methods for engagement?
  • What common engagement strategies show little return?
  • What data can a nonprofit use to enhance its engagement strategies?
