Elliott has been involved in philanthropy for over 20 years and shares his insights on current trends in fundraising and grant making. He offers perspective on attributes he looks for – both in an organization and on an organization’s board – when considering a grant opportunity. J.D. also provides consultation on what qualities can be found in a good non-profit CEO and fundraiser.

About our guest

J.D. has been president of The Memorial Foundation since its inception in 1994 and has helped the foundation contribute over $132 million to nonprofit organizations. He was previously president of Nashville Memorial Hospital. J.D. serves on numerous boards in Middle Tennessee and beyond. He earned degrees from both Austin Peay University and Northwestern University. He and his wife Anita are active in their church and enjoy spending time with their grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
