STELLAR STRATEGIC PLANNING, TRUST AND THE ALL-IMPORTANT BUY-IN

Client: The Heritage School

“The most valuable part of the process was the buy-in that was created. Lighthouse created an environment with the team where everybody trusted the process all the way through. So, what happened was when we got the results, everyone was satisfied with the results because we bought in as we went along.”

The Heritage School

The Heritage School is an independent school in Newnan, GA, serving students from preschool through high school. Founded in 1970, The Heritage School’s mission is fourfold: developing the mind for college and beyond; developing the body through competition and teamwork; developing the spirit through growth and self-awareness; developing camaraderie through shared experiences.

Since graduating its first class in 1975, the school has grown substantially, evolving both its campus and its curriculum with local, national and global best practices in teaching and learning.

With new leadership, the school decided the time was right to embark on a new planning process. Lighthouse Counsel worked closely with the school administration to establish a strategic planning committee of key leaders. We reviewed insight from key constituencies and from trends and data to craft a five-year plan for the school.

The approval of the plan relied heavily on buy-in from the key leaders, and Lighthouse worked carefully to encourage trust and to ensure that everyone felt valued – a crucial component of both a smooth process and eventual success.

“The approach of Lighthouse Counsel was complete, based on a great knowledge base that they had. They were able to gather information and present it in such a way that the participants felt they were heard. And they then took some ownership.”
